About Our Organization
The Jefferson Rural Clinic is an independent IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation founded in 2005 by a group headed by Kathy Marshall to meet the medical and dental needs of those in the area that are not being met by traditional medical facilities.

We currently have many medical professionals that volunteer on a regular basis and over 50 total volunteers who take care of everything from office work to cleaning the facility.

In addition we partner with Carson-Newman University Nursing School every year for their spring term with final year Family Nurse Practitioner students seeing patients at the clinic under the supervision of Dr. B. J. Ellington.

In 2016 we began a partnership with Gayle Cole of South College who brings the Physician Assistant students to see patients under her supervision.

In early 2017 Hiwassee College began providing Dental Hygiene appointments at the clinic supervised by Randa Colbert and Dr. Blair Cohen of Cohen Family Dentistry of Jefferson City. Hiwassee brings an RV outfitted with the latest in Dental Hygiene equipment and students in their Dental Hygiene program.
